Music Producer, Recording Engineer and Mastering Engineer based in Manchester.
Katie Tavini is a professional audio engineer (producing, tracking, mixing, mastering) who began working at Limefield Studio in 2009. - "When I was studying music at university I spent the majority of my time in the studio facilities learning to use the studio as a composition tool. Impressed by my portfolio pieces, one of my recording lecturers put my name forward for a postition he had been offered to apply for at Limefield Studio. I jumped at the chance and threw myself into the folk and jazz scene that surrounds Limefield Studio. Here I worked and learnt from John Ellis and Bill Leader, on sessions for the likes of Oddfellows, Kirsty Almeida and Jackie Lomax.
Working with Bill Leader really taught me how to use my ears.
I now work as a freelance engineer throughout the UK across wide variety of genres. I also still regularly work from Limefield Studio (Manchester), but really enjoy working in different environments and acoustic spaces. I am keen to take projects into new studios and can frequently be found with a bag full of gear, heading out to work on location. I have all the equipment necessary for location recording and have amassed a selection of unusual microphones, that I am keen to bring along to any studio or location recording. I love travelling, meeting new people and experiencing something new on every session.
I am passionate about audio, and I love taking the time to find the right technique to bring out the best in your recordings - I don't stop until you are happy."
