What To Send For Your Mastering Session
Mastering is the final stage in preparing your music for release. To ensure the best possible results, it’s important to send the correct files and information. Below is a guide to help you deliver everything needed for a smooth, high-quality mastering session.
- Band or artist name
- A tracklist with track names (working names are fine too)
- Mixes that you love
- Any references - it’s cool to hear what’s inspired your project, even if it’s not sonically similar
- A list of formats you’ll need to release your music (digital, DDP, vinyl sides, cassette sides, Apple Digital Masters etc)
- ISRCs if you’re releasing your project on CD
- Any alternative mixes you’d like mastering (instrumentals, TV mixes)
You can send your files via any digital file transfer service, such as Samply, Dropbox or Google drive.
